On Saturday, October 12th and Sunday, October 13th 2024, AVANT returns for its fourth edition. AVANT is a boutique festival created with the aim of empowering the Southern Italian human, naturalistic and cultural heritage through music, and promoting solidarity and responsible development.
This year’s concept is “SILENCED HUMANITY”, exploring the growing trend to inhumanity and repression of dissent and peaceful protest against social and environmental injustice. At a time when humanity seems to be increasingly fading in the face of power and individuality, AVANT pursues its commitment for solidarity and sustainable change. The title symbolically recalls the image of the silencer, a tool that symbolises those modern practices that silence, and discredit, those who oppose: it is time to re-establish our collective humanity, keep the volume up, and implement forms of resistance, empathy, education and transformation.
The project continues to grow and expand. This year, it confirms the collaboration and support with Nuovi Mecenati Foundation, and Forum Austriaco di Cultura in Roma. The festival is also proud to announce new cooperation initiatives with Pro Helvetia, Ambasciata di Svizzera in Roma and UPBEAT Platform. Among the other partners, Sylva Foundation, Italia Patria Della Bellezza Foundation and CSV Brindisi-Lecce also feature.
